The Croatian Rural Development Network has been awarded funding for the implementation of the “Women in Rural Areas” project, which will further highlight the important role of women in the rural communities of Vukovar-Srijem County.
The project focuses on promoting women whose work, knowledge, products and services contribute to the development of agriculture, the preservation of local traditions, the strengthening of rural identity and the creation of added value in rural areas.
The total value of the project is EUR 2,527.98, of which Vukovar-Srijem County has awarded EUR 1,850.00 in financial support.
The project activities will present women from Vukovar-Srijem County working in agriculture, food processing, local products and services related to rural areas. Their stories, products and contributions to their communities will be promoted through promotional materials and participation in an international event.
Particular emphasis will be placed on increasing the visibility of local products, local values and the potential of rural areas. In this way, the project will contribute to greater recognition of women as important drivers of rural development and promote Vukovar-Srijem County to a wider audience.
The project is scheduled to be implemented from 1 May to 31 October 2026.
