The “European Corner – Together for Europe!” project was held in Županja on 15 May 2026. The project focused on celebrating Europe Day and informing children, young people and other citizens about the European Union, its values, institutions and symbols, as well as the opportunities provided by Croatia’s membership in the European Union.
The event was designed as an interactive, educational and creative gathering, with an emphasis on learning through play, participation and teamwork. Through a range of activities, participants had the opportunity to learn about the European Union in a simple and accessible way and discuss the values of peace, solidarity, unity, democracy and respect for diversity.
The programme included the following activities:
- “Little Europeans” – an educational workshop for children featuring flag colouring, a Europe puzzle and a mini quiz;
- “How Well Do You Know Europe?” – an EU knowledge quiz;
- “European Knowledge Hunt” – a game involving tasks and questions about the EU;
- “A Message to Europe” Creative Corner, where participants created messages and drawings inspired by peace, unity and solidarity.
Particular emphasis was placed on involving children and young people in order to introduce European topics to new generations in an engaging, understandable and encouraging way. Through the activities, participants demonstrated their knowledge, creativity and interest in topics related to the European Union. The messages to Europe that they created together highlighted the importance of cooperation, mutual respect and making a positive contribution to the local community.
The project contributed to increasing citizens’ awareness of the European Union and encouraging active and responsible European citizenship.
