A representative of the Croatian Rural Development Network (HMRR) attended the fourth meeting of the Monitoring Committee for Croatia’s Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023–2027. The meeting took place in Zagreb on 28 September 2026 and was organised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
The meeting brought together representatives of farmers’ organisations, civil society, public institutions, local government, social and economic partners, and the European Commission. It was chaired by State Secretary Marinko Beljo, who highlighted the importance of dialogue, transparency and partnership in implementing the Strategic Plan.
Members received an update on implementation, including support payments and investment interventions. By the end of August 2026, total payments had reached €1.71 billion, while more than 1,570 projects had been approved under investment interventions.
Other topics included the EU’s future Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034, Croatia’s preparations for the next programming period and the framework for the future Common Agricultural Policy. Amendments to the Strategic Plan were also presented, alongside discussions on potentially broadening the Committee’s membership.
Through its representative’s participation, HMRR follows the implementation of policies relevant to rural areas and preparations for their future funding and development.
